A Viennese Salon
Music, theatre and new media will converge in "A Viennese Salon" when the Solaris Wind Quintet performs Arnold Schoenberg's Quintet, Op.26 in the historical and cultural context of Vienna in the 1920s with poetry and art by Kandinsky and popular music by Kurt Weill and Louis Armstrong.
Solaris, the woodwind faculty quintet-in-residence, includes Kristina Jones, clarinet; Cynthia Watson, oboe; Barrick Stees, bassoon; George Pope, flute; and William Hoyt, horn.
Mezzo soprano Megan Elk and members of The New World Performance Laboratory will join Solaris on the program and The Cosmicswandive, a team of new media students from the UA Myers School of Art, under the guidance of Prof. Eunsu Kang, will provide digital videoscape accompaniment.
