I love meat but regardless, this restaurant was great! The indoor/outdoor setting on a sunny day cannot be beat anywhere else in Akron. The customers and employees were very diverse which was nice to see and the service was very efficient. I ordered a dish with "Gardein Chicken" and "Whole Wheat" pasta. The dish was excellent and you could barely tell that the chicken was not real.

We almost didn't keep our reservations for dinner after I read the reviews here. Am so glad we decided to give it a try anyway. The service was excellent (even though it was busy at 6:00 on a Saturday night) and the food was GREAT! All 4 of us liked it very much -- even the guys! So glad there is a vegetarian restaurant of this caliber in Akron. Keep up the good work!

After hearing reviews on the opening of this restaurant in the area a year or so ago, my husband and I were finally in the area for lunch. We were impressed by the modern decor and feel of the restaurant, too bad they didn't remember it was the food we were there for. Both of our meals were just plain lousy, not even mediocre. No style, presentation or taste to the food. And for this, we paid $30 for our lunch and left hungry and disappointed. No wonder there was only one other couple in the entire restaurant during the noon hour on a Monday. This had nothing to do with the Vegan menu items, they should have been wonderful - have they thought of hiring a chef?

Artichoke appetizer was great, so is the Crissie and Ghoulardi pizzas. Service not great; server disappeared for 20 minutes before we could place our order, then didn't clear the dishes. I stacked them to let him know, hey take these, finally it got through when I placed the stack half way off the edge of table. Never cleared our dinner plates before the check arrived; I put them on a nearby table. I've worked in the restaurant business for years and this is simple table service. I don't know if they've had any training on table service. It's too bad, because from the reviews I've read, everyone is basically saying the same thing. We love the restaurant, but train the servers!

Simple and delightful meals in a modern, industrial setting. My service was better than average (using the ohio scale). Go during the summer months when the chef picks vegatables from local and personal farms.

FIRST, my family was very excited to hear there was a VEGAN restaurant so close by.. WOW. We had two good dining experiences, not wonderful thought..the food is good but a bit pricey and I do think the staff needs a few classes on customer service. Last summer I called and ordered a vegan cheesecake for my daughter's birthday. I had called two weeks in advance and was assured it would be ready for the birthday. I went in to pick it up, and not only did they NOT have the cheesecake, but the employees were actually very nasty with me. I was shocked, after all, I was the one without a cheesecake for my daughter's birthday. They managed to grab one out of their cooler and toss it in an old plastic container and out the door I went, dazed and confused. Weren't THEY the ones that made the mistake (once again, customer service). My daugher and her boyfriend made reservations to go to VegiTerranean for Christmas break, only to be squeezed at a table between the copy machine and the check out. She said the food was mediocre and once again, the waitress was less than polite. Will we go back??? I highly doubt it, what a disappointment. VegiTerranean, you need to take a few steps back and go back to the basics.

Based on the review and the hours of operation found on this site, I drove my family from our home in Cleveland to Akron on Sunday afternoon to check it out. Unfortunately, the restaurant is not open on Sundays at all! The cleaning crew was very polite, however, and the place looks very cool, so we will make the 87 mile round trip again...but please correct the hours of operation on your website. Signed, Still Hungry in Cleveland!

I have been vegetarian for nine years - and have been to several vegetarian restaurants all over the country. I was ecstatic when I found out that Chrissie was opening a local vegan hang out. Don't get ANY of those in Akron.
So, my husband & I (who is also a vegetarian) went there soon after it opened.
We had expected good food - given the decor of the place - you could tell they put a lot of attention to detail - so the food was bound to be good!
My husband got the grilled artichokes for a starter - and the flavors were amazing. It wasn't what we were expecting, which made it even better! They were grilled with garlic and lemon... and a few ingredients that are slipping my memory right now. I got a "chicken" pasta dish with risotto rice. AMAZING. Whatever they put in those dishes... the blends of herbs and dressings... they really know what they're doing.
We also got the vegan tofu cheesecake for dessert. *sigh* Oh if I could only go there every day.
We have some friends coming in from out of town and I'm actually online looking for the number to make reservations.
Definitely go here! You will not leave disappointed! =)
