As one of Akron's oldest and most nostalgic dining establishments, Luigi's has remained in the Ciriello family since its 1949 debut on Akron's North Hill. Entrees: $6 - $15. The only dessert is Spumoni.

K8 hit it on the head - it's like they're using the sam old pizza pans from when they first opened and it does add a distictive flavor which must be an acquired taste. Place looks like it hasn't been remodeled since it was built (big on the 1950's-60's bowling theme). Waited in line nearly an hour, got a table by the door and had people waiting in line hovering over our table the whole meal like vultures. BTW don't bother bringing your Visa or Mastercard unless you plan on using it as a butter knife.

This is one of only a few places in Akron that can be considered a Classic in the sense that when people come to Akron they say -"take me to Luigi's." Thanks to the comics and its atmosphere, one of those places that puts Akron on the map. For lunch - I would suggest the slice and the salad. A great deal. I usually add a glass of Chianti. The pizza is delicious and the main reason to go there, in addition to just saying you have been to Luigi's. The cheesy salad is also one of those items that after you eat it, you never forget. I mostly go for lunch, but I hear it is a great late night, after the bars close, place as well.
Positives
- Great Pizza, Great Salads, Lots of Cheese
- Akron Tradition
Negatives
- Prices are on high side

Only thing I do love is their salads with tons of cheese. Pizza crust tastes like old metal pan. Once in a while I go there to see if it tastes nasty and it always does. I gave up.

Super Pizza...reminds me of the quality of Geraci's in Cleveland.
