The new John S. and James L. Knight building was opened July 2007. Featuring The Crystal, a 3-story glass lobby; The Gallery Box, a large, flexible exhibition space; and The Roof Cloud, a 327' long cantilevered steel armature extending over the old and new buildings. The museum's permanent collection houses over 3,700 objects. Particular areas of strength include American painting and sculpture since 1960, 20th century American and international photography and American impressionist and tonalist paintings. Featuring both permanent and traveling exhibitions.
Non-members: $7 adults; $5 students, seniors 65+; Children 12 & under and Members free.
On the first Sunday of every month, individual admissions to the collection are FREE; special exhibitions require paid admission.
Beginning March 1, 2009 the museum will offer free admission on the 1st Sunday of the month.
