As the seventh oldest zoo in the United States, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo has a history as rich as any Cleveland-area institution. The Zoo is home to the largest collection of primate species in North America among its 3000 animals representing more than 600 species, it's a botanical garden, demonstrating the relationship between plants, animals and humans, and is an accredited member of the American Association of Zoological Parks and Aquariums participating in 64 Species Survival Plans.
