The SHS presents its second rotating exhibit in a series of four slated in celebration of the city of Shaker Heights Centennial. This exhibit tells the story of the city of Shaker Heights' development from 1930-1955. Built on sturdy foundations, Shaker Heights weathered the 1929 stock market crash and the adversity that ensued. In 1935, 152 homes, with a median cost of $10,400 were built. WWII united the community in creating Victory Gardens in support of servicemen.
