Red, Black, & Green Christmas with MuAmin Collective and Epic

Doors 8pm | Show 9pm This December 22nd will be the 6th installment of an event that has become a staple of the local independent music community: Red, Black and Green Christmas. This year will showcase the music of R. A. Washington The Family Dollar, Keyel, Dangerous Colors, MuAmin Collective, LMNTL and Epic. Often times local musicians struggle to break into venues, are victimized by shady promoters, and are pigeon holed by genre. The idea was to create an event that showcased the wealth of artistry… Show more in the greater Cleveland area, while being upfront and fair with the artists. Rule number one: everyone gets paid. Rule 2: book at least 3 musical styles. rule 3. Quality Control. Rule 4: No Dead air. Rule 5:Keep it Fresh. Over the years over 30 different acts have played Red, Black and Green, with styles ranging from Punk Rock, R&B, Funk, Soul, and electronic. The constant is Hip-Hop, where a core of MC's DJ's and producers have formed the nucleus of the event. MuAmin Collective is the central figure in this core and have either hosted or performed in each edition, as well as booking the other performers and organizing the event. The Duo is comprised of DJ/ Producer aLive and MC/Poet Zion, who have been creating and performing their unique and heady brand of hip-hop all over Cleveland and beyond. Muamin Collective started with a concept - rapid fire critical thought over beats. simple? Not actually as easy as it is said, but over the last 10 years what started as a concept, has become praxis. The last album World B. Free was a nod the former Cavs great and a trip through nostalgia and future.
