Great food, great service

Delightful evening with friends at the Rosewood. Food delicious, service excellent--attentive without overdoing it. It gets a little noisy sometimes but overall a wonderful place.

enjoyable evening

Having read many of the reviews, I found enough there to make a venture out to the new joint in trendy Hudson. My wife and I took a couple friends for our first time. We found the ambiance to be fantastic, but are not huge fans of the no reservation policy. We didnt have too long of a wait and found the bar area to be very accomodating from the service to the beverages.
Upon being seated, we were treated to a fun evening with a great server. She was point blamk on her reviews of the dishes and what we would find enjoyable. She knew the food and the tastes well, but what took her to the next level was that she found a way to describe the food to our friends that are not food connosseurs.
We found the food to be wonderful and full of flavor. The serving sizes were more than expected for the pricing. We really got more for our money than we expected.
I have seen many comparisons of Rosewood to the Blue Point and Delmonicos. I feel that those comparisons are without basis. The Rosewood does not present itself as Blue Point or Delmonicos. It is a more relaxed atmosphere with different fare.
We were very happy with the food and service and look forward to enjoying more time at this establishment.

food,wine and a great time

WOW! Rosewood is all we could have hoped for. No reservation was no big deal, we had a great glass of wine at the bar then sat for a great steak. The service and staff were outstanding!

Food, Wine and Ambiance!

For those that don't understand the no reservation policy, you may be too pretentious for Rosewood. We had a delightfull burgundy, a perfectly prepared juicy, flavorful steak that along with an assortment of appetizers great food knowledge by our server and the GM was appropriately present in the room. If you need a reservation, go someplace else, the 10 minute wait for a table was worth it. Save room for dessert, we had them all and along with a good cup of java, it was the best finish of a dinner for us in a while.

Great Night

The Hospitality Group has done it again. The service was great - the staff was fun. Great wine. Great food. Cool atmosphere. Not the place to go if you are looking for a stuffy night out. If you want to enjoy good food from great folks, head to The Rosewood.

Really NOT worth it!

Do you want to go out for a nice dinner as a couple or with a group of friends? Skip this place. The limited menu does not appeal to a wide variety of tastes. There is NOT something for everyone. I couldn't even find a dessert that sounded good to me. The service is unforgivably slow. We were there for over three hours! It took 20 minutes just to receive our drinks. We go out at least once a week and love to frequent local businesses, but we will not be back.

FANTASTIC

Been here a few times now and have really enjoyed it alot. Sat at the bar on first two visits - awesome place to hang out - bartenders are on top of things. Really good beer & vino selection. Menu priced great / love the appetizers. The sirloin has a great sauce on it - really tasty for only $17 bucks. Wife has had the rotiss chicken all three times - loves it! Called ahead as suggested and had a short wait last weekend - no biggie - place was packed! Staff is good looking and energetic / especially at the bar!

Big Fun

rosewood grille is BIG FUN, they have a great beer selection, and perfect food to go with it. The bar is truly the place to be. Great energy, a knowledgable staff and sports on the tube all the time.

Try the killer french dip or the buffalo chicken flatbread with a dog fish 90 or a rosewood red (their own brew made by thirsty dog of Akron).

Long waits on Saturday night make for a busy bar get there early.

Great time

We went last night (Feb. 19) with a party of 4.
Whatever issues they had with no reservations/lists etc. seem to have been worked out. We showed up at 6:30 and were seated by 7, not too bad for a busy restaurant.
Great cocktails, and the rosewood red beer was awesome. Definitely not the same style as Blue Point, but a great place to grab beers with friends.
Big fire pit outside, this will be a cool patio. Looking forward to spring/summer. Hope they do live music.

With exceptions, good experience

After reading the other reviews I felt i needed to respond and review myself.

My wife and I went on Sat Feb 13th. I checked the website prior and saw that no reservations were needed and figured if we got there early enough we should be ok. Not the case. They told us they werent taking walk ins due to the "holiday", yet they were taking call aheads, which I dont believe they have a full grasp of how that is supposed to work either. They pointed out the "community" table in the bar and told us we could sit there and be served the full menu. We obliged, as I figured at 5pm, it could be our only shot at sitting down ANYwhere. We sat and watched as the place quickly became consumed with patrons while many seats were left empty "waiting" for the call aheaders. And even saw a few people walk in, bypass the host desk and sit down at "reserved" bar seating. I understand that newer restaurants will always need some time to get everything just right but I also find it hard that this is any Chef's, General Manager's, or Manager's first rodeo. You should kinda know what works and what doesnt. Anyways, that was the extent of our bad experience.

The wait staff was great! Ambiance was cozy, inviting, fresh and clean. Drinks were superb. And dinner/apps were fantastic as well as timely! The prices are actually exceptional! My wife got a filet along with a cheesey bacon cauliflower sidedish that she thought was amazing. Cooked to perfection. $22. Not bad at all! I had the juicest burger and fries I've had in a long time and it was only $9!

It is a beautiful restaurant that I will definitely revisit and suggest to others. Cant wait to enjoy the 10' long fire pit on the large patio on a cool summer evening!

I presume, that with enough complaints (which I'm sure they endured), they will soon change or at least modify the reservation/callahead scenerio. But I refuse to give a bad rating to an establishment based on one facet of the whole dining experience. Especially one that you KNOW is working out the kinks (hopefully).

Horrible experience, will not go back.

We visited, or attempted to visit, the Rosewood Grill last night, January 23. We called ahead around 4:00, and arrived around 5:00. We weren’t expecting to be seated right away, so we went and had a drink at the bar. In the course of the next hour and a half, we would see other couples come up to the desk and get seated without saying their names or indicating that they had called ahead. My fiancé went up around 5:45 to inquire how long it would be, and the girl at the desk replied that we had 3 other people ahead of us. At 6:30, I went up there to ask yet again how long it would be, and the girl told me that we had 6 people ahead of us. I asked her why she told my fiancé that there were only 3 forty-five minutes ago, and she stuttered and looked at the list for a while and then claimed that she told him that they had “3 2-tops” ahead of us. I’m sorry, but if we’ve never had to work in food service, we don’t know what that means… and my fiancé is completely positive she did not say that. I then asked why we watched couples come in and ask for a table of 2 and be seated. She claimed that they had called ahead, before we did. Meanwhile, the manager stood there the entire time not paying attention to us, or asking what the problem was. We were disgusted with our treatment at the Rosewood Grill and will be telling all of our family and friends to not patronize the establishment, other than the ones we’ve already told.

No Reservations

The no reservation policy should have warned us to stay away. They do allow you to call ahead no more than one hour prior to arrival. Our party of six called ahead at 6pm and arrived there at 7pm. The place was mobbed and it is not a very big establishment at all. We were told to grab a drink at the bar and the host would come find us when our table was ready. There was no place to order a drink and the bar was jam packed. We had to wave money around similar to Wall Street selling stocks to eventually get a drink. After checking with the hostess one hour later, now 8pm - our party was finally seated at 8:30pm. We ordered our dinner and it arrived at 9:40pm, over an hour after we were seated. The dinner was OK, but not even remotely close to Blue Point or Delmonico's - it's sister HR restaurants. Albeit, the place has a cool ambiance about it, definitely not worth the wait nor the fallacy of "no reservations."
