Nestled in the Rocky River Valley, the Rocky River Nature Center offers spectacular views of a 350 million year old shale cliff from the balcony overhanging the river. Along its trails, discover an ancient Indian fort, explore glacial rivers created thousands of years ago, and walk through a special wildlife habitat management area where deer, fox, rabbits, pheasants, quail and other wildlife are often seen.
Over five miles of trails lead from the Nature Center and explore river edge, wetland forest, ponds and hilltops. The nature trails are especially rich in wildlife and provide excellent areas for birdwatching. During spring and summer, wildflowers abound along the trails.
