When you enter this restaurant, you forget there is an Outback next door, and that it is part of the Outback corporate chain. The interior is first class. The speciality is seafood, which I think is good but not as good as the atmosphere suggests. Although, it is probably as good as the prices suggest. Our waiter, despited being dressed very nicely, seemed to have a limited knowledge of the menu and of seafood.
This place is a real throwback. A real nod to the meat and potato tradition that is northeast ohio. Huge, huge plates of food. I still go for the German food and they do a great job with German food. But a lot of people order the steaks. You could feed a family on the steaks. Especially the Prime Rib. What is amazing is that you get huge cuts of meat, done the way you order them, at very reasonable prices. And you can take dinner home for the family with the leftovers.
This is for the Hudson location. There are now many Aladdin's. The Hudson location is more pretentious than the Highland Square location, as might be expected, but also has a lot more seating.
Positive
-For the quality, inexpensive
-For vegetarians, a lot of good choices
-For fans of inexpensive middle east food, a lot of good choices
-For everyone, a lot of good choices
-Amazing desserts
-Great vegetable soup
Negative
-Service here can be spotty
-True story. I started chocking here on an onion skin, to the point 911 had to be called. The staff and manager showed almost no concern, during or after. No one offered to pick up the check, or even take something off for what I could not eat because I ended up choking on it. Maybe it was a liability thing, but you would think a little human concern was in order.
-Big positive, the food is good enough that I still go back after that.
